Bonus January Podcast – Chris Killip
The photographer Chris Killip died in October 2020 at the age of 74. His ground-breaking photography book ‘In Flagrante’, published in 1988, documented the deindustrialisation of the north east of England. Using landscapes and portraits shot using a large format 4×5 camera, the images show the cost of the deindustrialisation process on the landscape and people.
The photography became an icon of British documentary photography that has remained highly influential to photographers.
In the podcast I mention about not seeing anything from the BBC News. Sadly I did find a post tucked away in the Isle of Man local news section of the website that barely mentioned his In Flagrante work. HERE
